Dr. Utpal Chakraborty is one of India's most eminent figures in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing. A scientist, strategist, author, and educator, he has been at the forefront of making these complex technologies understandable, accessible, and beneficial to people across every section of society.

Often called the "AI Guru of India" or "AI Champion of India," Dr. Chakraborty has dedicated his life to popularizing and democratizing AI and Quantum Computing, not only within academic institutions but also across industries and public sectors throughout the country. His work has helped bridge the gap between advanced research and real-world implementation, enabling thousands of students, professionals, and organizations to embrace technology with confidence and purpose.

He has personally conducted over a thousand sessions in schools, colleges, and universities across India, inspiring young minds from rural and underprivileged areas to dream beyond boundaries. His mission has always been to ensure that no student is left behind in India's digital transformation. Through his guidance, many have gone on to build successful careers in technology and innovation.

Internationally, Dr. Chakraborty has delivered lectures in more than thirty countries, exchanging ideas and innovations on global platforms and showcasing India's leadership in Artificial Intelligence. He represented India at the United Nations' AI for Good Summit, where he spoke about how responsible and inclusive AI can become a force for social progress.

He has written eight acclaimed books and over four hundred articles and blogs that simplify complex scientific ideas, making them relatable for students, educators, and decision-makers. His writings are widely read and referenced for their clarity and depth.

Dr. Chakraborty has also built AI solutions with deep social impact. He is the creator of VidyaAI, an AI-powered learning platform designed to transform rural education through personalized and adaptive learning experiences. VidyaAI helps teachers and students by generating notes, quizzes, and insights in real time, helping bridge the educational divide across India.

He is also the architect of GAHNA, India's first sovereign small language model for cybersecurity, which will be launched at IIT Bombay in December 2025. GAHNA represents India's growing self-reliance in building secure, ethical, and indigenous AI models that serve the nation's critical infrastructure.

Dr. Utpal Chakraborty's story is that of a visionary who turned knowledge into action and technology into empowerment. Through his teaching, writing, and innovation, he continues to inspire millions, proving that true progress lies in making technology serve humanity.

Dr. Utpal Chakraborty has been one of the leading voices in advancing Artificial Intelligence(AI) awareness and adoption across India. He has delivered lectures and training sessions on AI in more than 700 schools, colleges, universities, and industrial forums, aiming to build AI literacy and help students, educators, and professionals understand how these technologies can create real social and economic impact. His sessions have played a crucial role in shaping the next generation of innovators and in building confidence among young minds from diverse regions of the country.

He was among the first to write detailed and insightful commentaries on NITI Aayog's "National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence" (2018), breaking down the policy framework into simple, actionable ideas for the academic and industrial community. Through his outreach, publications, and lectures, he has taken a leading role in propagating the Government of India's vision of "AI for All" and continues to work toward making India a global leader in responsible and inclusive Artificial Intelligence.

With over two decades of professional experience, Dr. Chakraborty has served in senior leadership and architectural roles across major multinational organizations, including Larsen & Toubro (L&T), IBM, Capgemini, and others. He later became the Head of Artificial Intelligence at YES Bank, where he pioneered the implementation of India's first social conversational banking initiatives powered by AI. He subsequently served as the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at Allied Digital Services Ltd., leading large-scale digital transformation projects.

At present, he is the Founder and Chief Scientist of ExorionAI, an advanced AI research company focusing on sovereign and domain-specific small language models, and the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of IndiqAI, which develops AI-powered products such as VidyaAI and UltiMeeT for education and enterprise productivity.

Dr. Chakraborty is also a highly regarded international speaker and author, known for simplifying and humanizing complex technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Blockchain, Web3, Metaverse, Internet of Things (IoT), and Agile & Lean methodologies. He has delivered keynote addresses at global conferences and contributed extensively to discussions shaping the future of technology and ethics in AI.

His thought leadership has earned him global recognition, being consistently listed among the Top Global AI Influencers and Thought Leaders by respected international forums. In acknowledgment of his contributions to advancing the global AI ecosystem, he has also been honored as the Global AI Ambassador for the years 2022 and 2023.
